A good friend of mine is well known for her love of bright, colorful shawls, red wine, and her dog Rufus. I created this piece as if I wanted to give some sense of her to a stranger. She is bold, and loving, and full of vim and color. I hope I translated some of that.
She's like this:
Maria was always the life of the party. Whenever she entered a room, she would light it up with her infectious smile and large, charming personality. Her friends adored her, and she was always the first person they called when they needed someone to talk to, or cheer them up.
Today, Maria decided to throw an impromptu party at her house (as was her habit). She invited all her friends and asked them to wear something colorful. Everyone showed up in their best and brightest outfits without being fancy dress. Maria, as usual, wore a stunning shawl that was festooned with circles and swirls of every color. The garment was ablaze with bright, bold colors, just like Maria's personality.
As the party got started, Maria poured everyone a glass of red wine. Her friends laughed and called her the Goddess of Revelry. She sipped her wine rapturously and danced with her friends, feeling grateful for the love and happiness that surrounded her.
Rufus started barking. Maria picked him up and as she cuddled him to her chest, they swayed together to the music. She was a wild and wonderful woman wrapped in love, wine, a dog, and all sorts of vibrant colors. The party continued into the night, and Maria and her friends had a blast. They laughed, danced, and sang along to their favorite songs. Everyone loved spending time with her.
As the night came to a close, Maria hugged her friends and thanked them for coming. She was grateful for the love and joy they brought into her life and for the chance to love them back. Her friends in turn thanked her for yet another wonderful night, and wholeheartedly expressed their appreciation for Maria's spirit and contagious energy.
